Ingredients:
Crust:
- 4 egg whites
- 1 c. sugar
- 1 teaspoon corn starch
- speck of salt
- 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
Filling:
- 1/2 pint heavy cream
- 1/4 c. sugar (or sweetened to taste)
- 1/2 c. chopped nuts
- 1/2 c. shaved chocolate or mini chocolate chips
Beat egg whites until stiff. Gradually add sugar and fold in rest of ingredients. Generously grease 10 - 12 inch pie plate with butter. Pour into plate and do not form it; trust me it will rise to fit the plate. Bake 300 degrees for 45 minutes. Let cool completely. I sometimes make the crust the night before and leave it in a dry, off oven all night. It has to stay in a dry place.
When ready to serve, whip cream and add sugar and sweeten to your liking. Pour into crust and sprinkle with nuts and chocolate. Slice and serve immediately.
